The Arizona Biltmore is proudly partnering this summer with the Southwest Shakespeare Company to present two classic productions at the resort: William Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST.
Enjoy an evening at the Biltmore in the historic Grand Ballroom for The Importance of Being Earnest or under the stars on the Paradise Garden Lawn for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

June 2 to June 11 — On an enchanted summer's evening four young lovers find themselves entangled in a bewildering game of lust and longing. In a magical forest where a powerful fairy king and queen are at war nothing is as it seems as mischievous spirits run riot, confusion reigns and love conquers all.
Don Bluth returns to the Southwest Shakespeare Company to direct Shakespeare's beguiling comedy.

Hollywood Experts Speak - Part 2 of 2010's Blockbuster Speaker Series
The entire month of June is dedicated to the art and craft of Hollywood films! Each weekend in June will feature Hollywood Experts whose talents create movie magic for FREE.
Make-up artists, set designers, costume designers and other Hollywood pros that have made countless famous films will be giving special presentations giving insights into the art of movie making.
Each guest speaker will present the art & craft of Hollywood and Saturdays & Sundays during the month of June.

June 4-5 – Cindi Grossenbacher, Screenwriter
The day after graduating college, Cindi had packed her car and set off for Hollywood with a commitment as thick as an unabridged dictionary to become a screenwriter. More than two decades later, her extensive credits range from films such as "Pearl Harbor" to numerous TV shows including "Arrested Development," "Bones," "Shark" and "The Mentalist." She will explore how the story morphs and evolves as shooting progresses, and the many factors that shape storytelling in Hollywood.

June 11-12 – Ellen Mirojnick, Costume Designer
As the woman behind some of the silver screen's best-dressed men and most captivating characters, Ellen Mirojnick's film credits range from Wall Street and Money Never Sleeps to Unfaithful and Starship Trooper. Nominated for a BAFTA award for costuming Robert Downey Jr. as the loveable tramp in Chaplin, Ellen's talents as a costume designer have won wide acclaim.

June 18-19 – Richard W. Taylor II, Visual Effects Society
Richard W. Taylor II: Director / Visual Effects Director: Live action, animation, special effects and computer-generated images explode with emotion and ignite the imagination. Richard W. Taylor II is a pioneer in the field, winning numerous awards for his films, commercials and video game cinematic sequences. From Star Trek and Tron to Lord of the Rings and Red Alert 3, Richard has been a part of the evolution of digital technology as it has become the most powerful visual tool in film and new media.

June 18 – James Harper and Marilyn McIntyre, On-Camera Workshop
Leave this workshop with a greater knowledge of on-camera acting. Film and television scripts will be used to teach on-camera acting techniques, which will help you access your unique personal resources. These On-Camera workshops will focus on bringing yourself to the work – to the party! Your life experience and your imagination are what bring the words off the page and the character to life. Your unique self is what allows you to do that, but you have to "bring yourself to the party" for that to happen.
James Harper and Marilyn McIntyre between them have 70+ years professional on-camera work experience. Both have performed major & leading roles on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre stages, and have more than 400 guest star, recurring, or series regular appearances on television, and over forty films to their combined credit. And both have combined teaching/coaching experience for over forty years. Ms. McIntyre and Mr. Harper can currently be seen on screen starring in the independent short film Into The Unknown.

June 25-26 – Sally Stevens, Hollywood Film Chorale
Sally was born into a Hollywood music family (her mother was the one of the voices of the "Munchkins" in "The Wizard of Oz") and has worked on more than 1,000 theatrical and television film scores over the last three-plus decades. She's toured with Burt Bacharach, sung the main title of The Simpsons, and served as Chorale Director of the Academy Awards broadcast of the Oscars for almost 20 years. As Director of the Hollywood Film Chorale, she brings together voices appropriate for every emotion - creating powerful and moving music for such memorable films as The Last Air Bender, War of the Worlds, Matrix Revolution, Scorpion King, Van Helsing and more.
